What we set up
The school office, organized in Odoo
Odoo has no official school app, so we combine standard apps such as CRM, Invoicing, eLearning, Events and Employees with a small student and class module. You keep the benefits of standard Odoo without forcing a school into a sales tool.

Teacher hours and pay
Teaching hours flow from the timetable into Timesheets, so hourly tutors are paid for the sessions they taught, with withholding tax on freelance fees recorded for your PND 3 filing.
Staff records
Employees, contracts, time off and recruitment for teaching and office staff, with documents such as teaching licenses kept on each record.
Open days and events
Open days, workshops and exam registrations run on Odoo Events, with tickets, reminders and attendance tracking.
Fee and enrollment reports
Outstanding fees by class, enrollment by program and revenue by campus, from the same ledger your accountant uses.

Standard Odoo where it fits, custom only where it must
A student information system can easily grow into a large custom project. We keep it small: the student, class and timetable module holds only what standard Odoo lacks, and everything financial stays in standard Accounting, so upgrades and audits stay simple.

Before you commit
What Odoo does not do for schools out of the box
Odoo is a strong base for a school office, but it is not a finished school system. These are the gaps and risks we discuss before you decide.

No official school app
Odoo has no standard module for students, classes or timetables. We build a lean one, or assess a community option such as OpenEduCat against your needs.

Timetabling is not optimization
The class module checks clashes and room capacity, but it does not generate a full timetable automatically. Schools with complex constraints may keep a dedicated timetabling tool and sync the result.

Some apps need Enterprise
Subscriptions, Planning, Appraisals and Studio are Enterprise apps. Community still covers CRM, Invoicing, eLearning, Events and Employees, which is enough for many centers.

Student data is personal data
Student and parent records fall under Thailand's PDPA. Access rights, consent records and retention rules are configured deliberately, not left at defaults.

VAT treatment varies
Tuition from licensed schools is generally VAT-exempt in Thailand, while corporate training and some course materials may carry VAT. Tax rules per product are set with your accountant before the first invoice.

Mid-term cutovers are risky
Switching billing systems in the middle of a term confuses parents and splits the ledger. We plan cutover for a term start, which can move your timeline by weeks.

Parents pay by card through Stripe or 2C2P, or by PromptPay and bank transfer, and each payment reconciles to the right invoice.

Questions clients ask first
Does Odoo have a school management module?
Odoo has no official school or student information app. We combine standard apps such as CRM, Invoicing, eLearning and Employees with a lean custom module for students, classes and timetables, or assess a community option like OpenEduCat if it fits. Either way, fees and accounting stay in standard Odoo.
Can Odoo bill term fees in installments?
Yes. Payment terms split a term invoice into installments with their own due dates, and each installment can trigger its own reminder. Sibling and early-payment discounts are set up as rules, so the office does not calculate them by hand.
Can we sell online courses with Odoo eLearning?
Yes. Odoo eLearning hosts videos, documents and quizzes, issues certificates, and sells courses through your Odoo website with online payment. You can run paid public courses and private company courses from the same catalog.
Is Odoo a good fit for a small tutoring center?
Often, yes. A tutoring center with one or two branches can run admissions, class packages, invoicing and tutor hours on Odoo Community with a small class module. If all you need is a booking calendar and receipts, a simpler tool may cost less, and we will say so.
How long does it take to set up Odoo for a school?
A focused setup covering admissions, billing and staff typically runs six to twelve weeks, and we plan go-live around a term start. Custom timetabling, several campuses or migrating years of fee history add time. You get a phased timeline after scoping, not before.
